Founded in 1993, the Florida Powerboat Club is a membership-driven organization, aimed towards promoting safe and responsible power boating in a group setting. They are always assisting performance boating enthusiasts in ways to help achieve the maximum enjoyment from their Florida power boating lifestyles. First events date as far back as April 1992, back then the club was known as Sunny Isles Powerboat Club, operating in Sunny Isles Marina, North Miami Beach. They officially incorporated as a Florida Corp. in June 1993, securing their future recognition.
The club founder, Steward Jones, is committed to the objective of improving the sport for its participants, while fostering a positive image with any others. Florida Powerboat Club welcomes both beginners as well as seasoned veterans in the sport. Seeking to cultivate an atmosphere where individuals from different backgrounds and cultures may interact and share in the pursuit of this exciting recreational sport. Types of boats include those from offshore sport and performance style vee-bottoms and catamarans, single to quad engine configurations, reaching top speeds ranging between 50 mph and 180 mph. There are more than a dozen power boating events planned annually throughout Florida, the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas. Events range from 1-day to 7-day excursions, including rallies and Poker Runs.
